What do you think of when you hear the word FAILURE?
If you are a hardworking, motivated, and exceptional human being, (which you most likely are) failure is probably a word that you don’t ever want to hear or be associated with. And that is a problem. Let’s start by exploring what failure is not.
Failure does NOT mean give up and go home. Failure does NOT mean that this career path is “not the right one for me.” Failure does NOT mean you are inadequate or stupid. In order to thrive along our career journey, we need to shift our perspective on how we view failure. Failure is a lived experience that can makes us wiser and stronger. When we experience a failure in our lives, we must know how recognize it, learn from it, and gather the strength to move on.
Winston Churchill once said, “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.”
